About Context Link
Context Link is a live view of your business for the AI era.
It connects the places where your business already exists - your website, docs, and workspaces - and turns them into a living business state that AI can ask, observe, and help evolve.
Why we're building this
In an age of AI, context from a specific business's experience and knowledge is more valuable than ever, especially in a world where everyone has access to the same AIs trained on the whole web.
But we still think we're just scratching the surface of how AI can help a business when given the right context.
What would it look like if there was a system that not only knew all of your internal business context, but also the context around every part of your business? What market are you in, which part of it, and what kind of customer? Who are your competitors? Why do you sell what you sell? And why do your customers care? There are so many important areas like positioning, competitors and marketing channels that have a thousand fuzzy questions like this.
We also want to see these parts of a business visually. Which marketing channels are we doing well in? What channels are working well for other companies in the space that we're not taking advantage of? What are we known for? Which customer profiles are we appealing to via our online footprint?
And naturally, if you can see this, you want to know how to change it and whether it's been changing over time.
What we've built
Context Link pulls in context on your business from your existing sources, then indexes all of that content into something that can be searched by meaning instead of just keyword.
On top of that, we've built Lenses: a way to observe a specific part of your business. We've launched five to begin with: Positioning, Competitors, Marketing Channels, Business Activity and Customer Support.
Each Lens is powered by your connected sources plus recurring AI deep research. Alongside a narrative summary, each Lens has a number of indicators displayed through the Lenses dashboard.
For example, Positioning has:
- Differentiators
- Points of focus
- Spectrums (where you sit on a scale, e.g. mass market...niche, SMB...prosumer)
- Key offerings (what you sell, price plans, products etc)
- Target customer segments (ICPs at least as they present to the web)
All of these indicators show live citations to specific connected sources or AI deep research chunks. This serves two important purposes:
- It lets you make an informed judgement of how seriously to take what you're looking at.
- It lets you see why the AI and internet think this about your business.
Who's behind it
Context Link is built by Oli, also co-founder of PreProduct.io.
PreProduct is Context Link's test bed #1, where it's used for ongoing business research and positioning, marketing experiments, article and doc drafts, customer support, and YouTube outlines. A lot of what shapes Context Link comes from needing it myself.
We're just getting started, and think it can get much better.
